Title: Simple Shoe Storage
Blogger: Abby Tudela
If you live in a small apartment like I do, it can be hard to find a place for everything. Are you a shoe fanatic drowning in a sea of shoes? Have no fear, here’s some tips to rescue you!
Hi, I am Abby, and I blog at Dirt on the Rocks and Big Boy Chronicles. Many thanks to Charmaine for allowing me to guest post today!
I wanted to share a few ideas I have for storing shoes in a small living spaces. I expect a lot of Charmaine’s readers to be into beauty and fashion, so this might be something you can relate to.
I have never been a full-on shoe fanatic. Sure, I wear shoes because I have to, but if I could I’d probably just wear sandals forever. It wasn’t until I met my boyfriend that I got into the whole shoe phase.
He introduced great-fitting and sexy shoes to me, and I can now say I am a proud owner of a few pairs of heels. Now I only have a few, but I notice that they are always scattered about. That needed to change so I came up with a few solutions to store my shoes. There’s the classic, traditional way and then there is the unconventional (but fun!) way.
I know storage is hard to come by if you live in a small house or apartment – space is limited so there may not be room for your favorite things. Let’s discuss a few different options -
You can always buy plastic bins, take a photo of each shoe and stick the picture out of the box/bin, so you know what shoe is stored. Stack them in your closet, under your bed or anywhere else you want. The first time I heard of this idea was from Kimora Lee Simons when they took a tour of her home on MTV – she has a ton of shoes and so she found this method helpful.

Another way to store your shoes is to get into DIY mode. The best idea I’ve seen so far is buying plastic tubing that you can get at your local hardware store, cutting them up to the desired length and then glue them together in an interesting way, and now you have creative wall storage.
Not shoe related tip – you can also do this in your kitchen if you want to store wine bottles. It’s a customizable and budget friendly idea that you can do at home. The great part about this idea is that you can paint the tubes to match your liking, wrap them in fabric, place them against a wall for dimension, storage, or you can make a small one and use it as a decorative table as well.
You do not have to be a master interior designer to get be organized AND have style.
